Machine Learning in Finance: The winners of my Cryptocurrency Kaggle challenge were awarded 1'000 CHF by Bank Frick: In my core elective Innovative Finance: Data Science and Machine Learning II student teams competed against each other in a Cryptocurrency challenge hosted on Kaggle. Bank Frick sponsored an award of 1'000 CHF to the three winners of the challenge: Team Moon Predictions (Markus Wabnig, Yannick Strobl and Alireza Mottaghi)
Best Bachelor and Master Thesis 2020: I have supervised both, the best Bachelor Thesis (Timothy Rist: “Long/Short Momentum-Strategie am Kryptowährungsmarkt”) as well as the best Master Thesis (Dominik Kaiser: Momentum meets Uncertainty). I congratulate both students for their dedication to their respective topics and for the very good work that they have done!

Finance Award 2019 der Universität Liechtenstein: I have supervised three out of six nominated theses (Dominik Brändle “BSc Thesis: Portfolio Optimization in a Cryptocurrency Environment: An Omega Optimization”, Bruno Jäger “MSc Thesis: Multi-Factor Timing” and Artur Maibach “MSc Thesis: Cross-Sectional Volatility and the Prediction of Factor Premia”). I am very happy that Bruno Jäger won this years Finance Award for his exceptional Master thesis on “Multi-Factor Timing”!
